Thanks to events like the Spring Golf Classic, no family receives a bill from St. Jude, which was founded by Danny Thomas in 1962. St. Jude is not only a hospital dedicated to saving children; it is also a research institution that is leading the way in understanding, treating, and defeating childhood cancer. When the hospital first opened, the overall pediatric survival rate was 20%. Thanks to St. Jude’s efforts, that survival rate has now increased to 80%. But our work continues until we can fulfill Danny Thomas’s dream that “No child should die in the dawn of life.”
